Milos Airport: frequently asked questions

No. The runway takes only turboprops and all flights are domestic, mainly Athens with Olympic and Sky Express. International visitors connect in Athens or fly to Santorini and take the ferry.

An hour before departure is plenty. The terminal is one hall; check-in closes 40 minutes before the flight.

About 4 km: 10 minutes and roughly €12 by taxi. Plaka is a few minutes further, about €15.

No. The island buses start from Adamas, ten minutes away by taxi, and reach Plaka, Pollonia and the main beaches several times a day in summer.

Not in summer: the island has around a dozen taxis and each ATR carries 70 passengers. Book a taxi for your arrival time, ask your hotel for a transfer, or reserve a hire car.

By ferry from Adamas port, ten minutes away by taxi: Sifnos is under an hour on the fast boats and Santorini about two hours. There are no direct flights.

In the small car park in front of the terminal, from about €2 an hour or €6 a day, first 15 minutes free. It can fill on busy summer mornings.

Milos companies, a few acting as agents for Avis, Hertz or Sixt, meet reserved customers at arrivals or deliver from Adamas. Cars, small SUVs, scooters and ATVs are available; book weeks ahead for summer.

For Adamas, Plaka, Pollonia, Sarakiniko and Paleochori, no. For Tsigrado, Firiplaka’s upper road and the west of the island, the last stretch is dirt and a small SUV is worth it, provided the contract covers unpaved roads.
